Canadian Adam Gregory signed his first record deal when he was hardly a teen and has since relocated to the country capital of the world: Nashville, U.S.A. On spirited “Crazy Days,” the 23-year-old crooner shows a romantic side — serenading a longtime sweetheart. Amidst springy guitars and thundering reverb, Gregory reminds his love of days when their hearts beat wildly, they watched fireflies glowing beneath the stars, and dreamed of spending forever together.

This smooth groove begins with finger snaps, acoustic guitar, and lightly tickled keys, and finds the Nigerian-accented soulstress listing similarities between her and a prisoner — and remarking how beautiful life is despite it all. Midway through the infectious cut, subtle strings and background vocals harmonize as Asa calls for compassion and humanity to prevail. A simple message that’s passionately delivered in a manner that calls to mind the vocal stylings of Wyclef, instrumentation of D’Angelo, and teachings of Bob Marley. Salsa-style horns tangle with a punk-ska bounce on Doctor Krápula’s rocking jam, “Mister Danger.” We’re not entirely sure whom the Colombian collective is targeting here (perhaps a former leader of the free world?), but it’s clear it’s a menacing “Power Ranger” from the north that wasn’t invited to his own home, yet acts worse than the devil as he forces his will onto others. Viva la revolution! If you like the track, check out the album.

This track from the Latino R&B crooner’s latest long-player, Out the Box, is a sweet bit of soul music with a modern, guitar-tinged edge. The backbeat pulsates with touches of wah-wah guitar, chiming melodies, and conga drums. The man of the hour, Jean, delivers his plea for awareness in a versatile, slick style with a touch of gritty soul underneath. Be sure to check out the Spanish version of the track. If you like the track, check out the album.

This Australian producer was one half of the duo Riot In Belgium (who created the inescapable “La Musique” back in ’07). Now on his own and part of Kitsune’s international party posse, Beni has delivered a joyous disco cut with booming, rubber-band bass lines, strings, and squelchy intensity. Dig it! If you like the track, check out the EP.

Silken-voiced Alexander Acha is the son of Latin heavyweight Emmanuel Acha, but he’s quickly making a name for himself. Case in point: “Te Amo.” The gentle ballad opens with delicate piano and orchestral strings are subtly sprinkled in as the suave crooner delivers a poetic love song capped with soothing harmonies. Sharp-eared R & B fans will recognize Slim as the pleading, falsetto voice of 112 (“Only You,” “Peaches & Cream,” “Cupid”). Now a solo artist with a new album, Love’s Crazy, Slim follows the success of its first single, “So Fly,” with the propulsive title track. Slim ponders the sanity of l’amour in his distinctive voice that’s smoother than leather soles on a fresh-waxed parquet. Bonus cameo by OutKast’s Big Boi, who drops an insane 16 bars. If you like the track, check out the album.
