Each week we find a track from an artist or a band we’ve been enjoying and bring it to you, for free, as our Canción de la Semana. Polock, a five-guy band from the Mediterranean beach town of Valencia, Spain is — for the time being obscure. But this captivating indie rock single, “Fireworks” from their debut album Getting Down from the Trees, could establish them as a Spanish Phoenix. The drums race along to a heart-pumping canter as the lead singer lifts his raw yet pitch-perfect, faintly Spanish-accented voice to describe the unbridled joy of being young, when anything can happen.
