The group’s spry single “I Don’t Wanna Dance” is a resolute anthem of female free will belted out by charismatic lead singer Cassadee Pope. Frequency-tuning radio sound effects lace a nimble power-pop track meant for cranking up loud.

Polock, a five-guy band from the Mediterranean beach town of Valencia, Spain is — for the time being obscure. But this captivating indie rock single, “Fireworks” from their debut album Getting Down from the Trees, could establish them as a Spanish Phoenix. The drums race along to a heart-pumping canter as the lead singer lifts his raw yet pitch-perfect, faintly Spanish-accented voice to describe the unbridled joy of being young, when anything can happen.

Named for the famed car with the gravity defying doors, Spain’s Delorean take liberally from the sounds of the same decade (the ’80s, for you youngsters). A mixture of glossy, early techno-pop fused with the hypnotic, organic swirl of Animal Collective and the hook-heavy glee of the first Avalanches record, Delorean’s “Stay Close” goes back to the future in a neon-fogged haze.

The group’s eye-raising name, Vib Gyor, is simply a mnemonic for colors in the visible spectrum (violet, indigo, blue, green, and so forth). The five Brits behind this colorful, burgeoning band have already collaborated with producers whose big-time credits include Sigur Ros, Radiohead, and the Cure — and influences of each can be heard on “Fallen,” an ethereal sparkler that finds lyrics of perseverance wrapped in a warm blanket of layered guitar.
